View Full Version : Pain in Fingers and Hands

Hey Everybody,

I am new to this Healthboards thing, so I hope I'm doing this right.

I have arthritis quite bad in my neck. I thought it was just my neck - Then about a year or so ago, I started waking up with the joint of my ring finger hurting and swollen. Over time it has become 6 or 7 of my fingers and now often my hands hurt too. Is this normal? Do other people have arthritis in their fingers? Does it ever get so bad you can't use your hands? I sure hope it doesn't get any worse because I rely on my hands for my living. Could this be something else besides arthritis? I don't have a lot of faith in doctors, unfortunately, but if this gets much worse I guess I'll have to grit my teeth & go see my dr.

If anybody has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks,
Neeku

Hi and welcome. I'm sorry to hear about your problems. The hand pain could be arthritis in your hands or it could be radicular pain from your neck problems. It would be a good idea if you did check it out with your doctor and see what can be done before it gets any worse. Good luck to you and keep us posted.
