I thought I would update you guys... I went an AMAZING 20 days without a seizure :D I was beginning to have doubts that I could ever make it past twelve days, but I did!! I think once I get my back fixed (from my fall down the stairs a month ago) maybe i CAN EXCEED THE TWENTY!! I just started physical therapy today (tough! ) and I haven't been able to sleep. I have a feeling thats what did me in!! So once my back relaxes some and my sleep pattern gets alittle better I'm gonna expect thirty!!!!!!!
Can you believe twenty????? :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing: Lovin it guys!! Hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day!!

Lisa you are truely an insperation to me! Girl you have no idea!
So glad you have been able to set a new record for yourself!! :bouncing:
I can so relate... there were times we were celebrating hours without seizures~ then days~ then weeks~ and now whole months~ I have no doubt that either of the kids could break their streaks at any time. And I know that it will kill me inside to start all over again - BUT, you have all shown me that we can get through it!
What are you taking again... E folks aren't the only ones who can suffer short term memory loss :p Hope it continues to move you forward in your journey toward that seisure free goal!!
Keep us posted! And I'm so glad that this didn't get you down to much!

Thanks you two! :D I'm not gonna get down about it, it took me me way too long to get there! (things could always be worse)
gagcas- Oh spring... say it again, please... drown out the weather man who just told us snow was heading our way  yuck I'm so ready for flowers and lawn mowers and gardens and baby bunnies and......... Sorry dreaming again
Lisa - I'm on Topamax 100mg a day.. few side affects my memory here lately is getting some wear and tear, but hey let me just say 20 DAYS!! My appetite is decreasing and that isn't a bad thing, could come in quite handy this time of year, right? I go back to my neuro in March and I'm not sure what to expect. I know he will increase me, other than that I'm not sure. I'm thrilled, as I'm sure you can tell. I was just gettting so down, because I couldn't break past twelve days no matter what we tried, and then wham :p ! Darn back, if it wasn't messed up I might of went alot longer!! But thats okay, I'm not going to dwell, I'm delighted to have the days I did and I won't belittle them!! :nono: Lisa you say we have shown you so much, but many of us have gotten our stregth from you!! You may not have E, but you have two kids that do and you have had to fight for both. Nights up with Jake, school with Jenny, you are the inspiration sweetie!! On here remembering everyone of us...... (((((((HUGS)))))))

Congratulations Lisa!! That is wonderful!!
I myself just recently beat my record of 12 days and made it 75!!! It was a miracle and at first I felt very, very depressed over this. However, there was a reason for it. I found getting down about it just brought on 2 more in that same week (last week). I couldn't sleep and it just made it worse.
So, now I think, hey, 75 days!!! Wow! Who thought!!!
Keep up the good work Lisa and happy counting!!!

Wow... 75 days... that had to be amazing!!! Scary too?? Question... did you find yourself thinking, when is it going to happen? Thats what I did! Silly, but I did. I just kept thinking anytime now.... What made such a big change for you? Med change or dosage change? I'm so excited for you!! Is that the best its ever been for you?? To bad about the two that followed, darn things!!!!
I wish these smileys were working right for me so I could happy dance for you!
Lisa
With our chins up we WILL top those records!!

Hi Lisa!
I have to credit it on the hormone therapy I am receiving (see thread: seizures happen around your period, good news for you).
I blamed the seizure that I did have (and subsequent others from stress of the first!) from using the nicotine patch to quit smoking. My neuro told me that there is a chemical in it that exacerbates seizures. He also told me that any chemical change in my body can lead to a seizure which is what it was, a chemical change! Three times I have tried to quit and all three times I ended up with seizures!! Darn!!! I want to quit so bad but I don't want seizures either!! How do I win!
Anyway, I have been doing great once again, now on day 10.
Yes, I did think "when is it coming" allot but then I said, just think positive and be sure to take extra good care of yourself and things will be fine. That seemed to help. You find that the longer you go with out one the more careful you are about sleep, stress, etc. Amazing.
I am once again on the right track (I hope!!!)
Let me know how things are going for you!!!

Have you talked to your doc about quitting smoking? There has to be some way that would be safe for you..... I'm glad to hear you are back on track! My track twisted and turned and I have a feeling its gonna be awhile before it gets staightened back out! I'm gonna work hard to get my back better, so my sleeping can get back to normal.. which will tame these darn things alittle.
I had one last night and quite a few today, as I said I'm quite out of whack! The one last night scared me pretty bad. As if having a hurt back from falling down the stairs during one of them isn't enough, I whap my leg a good one last night during one and now I'm limping..ugh.. We thought I may of broken it, but I could walk on it and move my toes, so appareantly I just banged it really well!! Still pretty swollen today though... black and blue.. real pretty!
Head up, chin up, new day tomorrow!

Oh Lisa!
((())))) to you girl! Hope you are feeling better really soon!
I fell down the stairs myself last week but thank goodness all I did was bruise my arm up really good (and I wasn't even having a seizure!! just a clutz!).
I guess "one day at a time" applies to soooo many things!
I see my neuro today and will ask him about the smoking. I can't do it cold turkey and there must be something that can help!!! AUGH!
