My wrist keeps on getting hurt. It feels like a sprain or something, local pain right in the center (on top) where the hand meets the wrist...the center of the wrist. Usually happens after I suddenly jerk it or do something strenuous after not using it at all. Doesn't hurt non stopped, just when i try to bend it. This has happened like 5 times in 3 years, what is it?

Hi Joey: I have that same thing sometimes in my right wrist. Sometimes, it's more on the top of my hand. My husband bought me one of those braces that people who have carpal tunnel syndrome wear and that helped. I don't know if I have Carpal Tunnel or not, b/c I don't have tingling or anything. Sue

yes i have the same type of problem and it was diagnosed as a ganglion, which unfortunately the only cure for it would be to operate but the area is so full of nerves that i don't know any doctor that would do it. my doctor also said that a quick but temporary solution would be to take a giant book and slam it down on my hand! but the there is a risk of having a broken wrist, so i decided that i will just deal with the pain that comes and goes and move on with my life.
