I went to the dentist about a month ago with a tooth ache. He examined and did xrays and determined that it was tarter build up. This was on my bottom tooth next to a wisdom tooth. After he scraped them clean of tarter I felt better for a couple weeks. Last week the same tooth started hurting again off and on with sharp extreme pains and then it would leave and not hurt. It does not hurt when I drink or eat something. Any way I went back yesterday (Friday) and he thought it was the wisdom tooth causing the pain, so he took out the old filling in the wisdom tooth and replaced it with a temp filling. The next day (Staurday) it still feels the same and the pain is coming from the second to that last tooth next to the Wisdom tooth. Is it possible that I have a abcess and it is not showing up on xrays? My tooth does not hurt all the time. I can bite down on the tooth and it will hurt but If I keep biting down on the same tooth the quits hurting.
