Hi all, i just needed to vent a little. we have been keeping Gage on the liquid zarontin instead of the topomax sprinkles because he wouldnt take them. his PCP told me to keep him on that so at least he was on something till we saw the neuro(they are hard to get ahold of) on the 25th of this month. i called the neuro office on monday to have a new refill called in becasue we didnt have enough to last till that appt.. you know the nurse had the gall to yell at me because he wasnt on the topomax at all. i tried telling her that he wouldnt take it and i couldnt get anyone to call back, and that i saw his dr. in between that time and this is what she said to do. i was literally belittled becuase of it and that she was telling in few choice words that it was my fault that the dr.'s didnt relay this info back and forth(considering they are close). after all that she said she would call it in that day. you know i called that pharmacy till thursday and nothing had been called in. i had to call back to the neuro office and see what was up. she never called it in. mind you i talked to her on monday and this was 4 days later. i had to wait till thursday night to pick it up. after all that yelling she did about it and she forgets to call it in. can you believe that. i cant wait till his appt on the 25th. i will be giving them a piece of my mind. number one i am not a child do not speak to me like i am and number two, it was just as bad for not calling it in. sorry for the long vent but i was literally upset over it. any of you had to deal with ignorant dr. and thier nurses?

OH! :nono: :nono: I think I would have called back and asked to talk to the doctor immediately. That makes me so mad for you! :o I haven't had to deal with that at our doctor's and I hope I never do! Give them a piece of your mind and make sure the doc knows about it!

:nono: Please don't get me started on that, I will just say that I have been there!! Vent all you need to sweetie.... You make sure you DO give them a piece of your mind when you go, no reason for them to be like that! Like we have nothing better to do than call them.....

Jennifer - when I had experiences like this at my neuro's office, I called the corporate office of the clinic chain and asked for the name of the Clinic Manager. I explained my experience, and within an hour I'd received telephone calls from another Neuro within the practice and from the head RN both offering to "make it right" and giving me the information I'd asked for in the first place.
I keep a written record of every telephone call I make, who answers it, and what the result is.

Hey Jen!!!
:nono: Give them what for! And I'm with Art, most of our calls to the neuro are documented. We use the Journals for this. That way you have them with you for reference if needed. **~So and so~ said to ~do this~ on ~this date~**
Think of things like this... some days I have to remind myself that I can not control what others do or don't do when promised. BUT if I/we do not get a response from an office we either 1.) make our own decision and move forward or 2.) if we are unsure, keep calling until someone will speak with us.
Let us know!

thanks for the help and ideas. i never thought to write it in teh journal. i hope it goes good on teh 25th. its a clinic that the neuro is only there one week a month so its not as easy to get ahold of her. i am pretty much dealing with the nurses when i have to call. i really dont have any other options around that take his insurance so im kind of stuck. my only other options are a 2 hour drive. which if this keeps up i would rather do. at least it would get me out of my city for a while........lol.
