I have an arthritic shoulder which causes me to lose sleep in cold weather and I'm wondering about the least harmful pain control.
Anti-inflammatories such as voltaren are hard on the stomach but codeine etc. are hard on the liver.
Which is the most effective/least harmful treament?

HI,

Have you tried Ultracet? It needs to be prescribed by a doctor or Orthopod. I have shoulder problems too. I had sx in late Feb. of this year. I am much better now, except I have pain when I draw or paint. The things that I love unfortuatly.
I hope this helps.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but have you tried learning how to do your own massage therapy on the trigger point/muscle knots that may be causing your shoulder pain rather than resorting to drugs or expensive professionals? I was bothered by ongoing shoulder/arm pain from a fall several years ago & now I'm not. There's a couple of excellent books out there on the subject; at the very least you 'll learn something of the anatomy of your muscle groups.

Hi

Im sorry to hear about your pain.

I take bextra/vioxx my doctor put me on them cause motin was tearing up my stomach she said they where easy on your insides she didnt quite put it that way but that what she meant.

They work great although I do have my feet/ankle swell up on me.
THese works as mild pain releif and anti/flammatory.

I do use the advil gel tabs the green ones which you can buy over the counter I found they are the best thing to buy without rx

I hope you find what u need http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

Remember this is only an opinion
