Taking your B/P after work & driving through rush hour is not a good idea. 1st reading can be 140/90 (anxiety???). Took 5 hours off on Thursday & it was 115/65.... Friday it was 124/70 after work. B/P definitely varies!!!

You're quite right. BP does vary throughout the day and so does heart rate. From what I've read, BP slowly increases as the day wears on, and starts to settle down as the day progresses, peaking when you're feeling anxious/angry/frustrated. One single/a couple of elevated reading(s) does not qualify you as hypertensive.

Also, when you're unwell, even a "normal" person can have a BP of 140/100!
