I am strongly considering the option to cancel my surgery to have my wisdom tooth removed. First, I am already too afraid to get them all 4 taken out. One of them is buried deep, completely sideways, and I run the risk of nerve damage in the extraction process.

The tooth that caused me a little bit of pain has stopped hurting completely. My biggest worry is that I have allergies, and i sneeze violently at least twice a day, and I bet that would blow out any blood clots. I don't want to go through the dry socket pain that everyone speaks of terriblely. I am 32, and the surgeon said the teeth would not move anymore. Which option do you think is best for me?

There are so many different opinions about this, but I've chosen to keep my wisdom teeth. I'm past the age of 50, and I haven't had any problems. I wonder sometimes if we are overreacting when we have perfectly good wisdom teeth removed. Some people also claim that they've developed TMJ problems after having wisdom teeth extracted. TMJ sounds like it's pure torture for some people. Other people, I understand, have no or little problems with the removal of wisdom teeth, other than the normal anticipated after-affects of pain, bleeding and so forth.

For you, I think it's your own choice based on what you understand. It's basically a judgement call. For me, I'm not getting into a more problems because of dental work, as long as I can help it. :)
