I just read in a magazine in which J.Lo said when she first started working with a personal trainer she told him she didn't want to lose her curves ( the famous butt ;) ) .So what she does is strength training to add sexy definition . she said she doen't overdue it with cardio because you know that is what burns fat. It says she opts for exercises that accentuate her curves, not ones that whittle those womanly curves to nothing :nono: . I'm glad :bouncing: i read this because i was wondering how i would looked toned and leaner without losing my great curves. The article doesn't give any example exercises or routines so i was wondering do you'll have any ideas of any strength training routines

Interesting. That's what I'm doing now. Exercises that accentuate those curves. I'm pretty skinny and I actually WANT more curves but am going to accomplish that through gaining muscle instead of eating more and gaining fat (I hope:) ) Curves ARE sexy and women are SUPPOSED to be curvy instead of looking like 12 year old boys

It's important to note a couple of things in regards to J-Lo and her workout. First of all her butt contains a fair amount of fat. Now I have absolutely no problem with this, it's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. But it's important to note that some people store fat in that area more than others. Maybe in order for her butt to be the way she wants it to be she needs to keep her body fat at a certain percentage whereas another person may have to have a higher or lower body fat percentage to maintain that same type of butt configuration. Also others may not store fat there very easily at all and some may store fat there before anywhere else. You can't target where you burn the fat but you can target how much fat you burn. This is the key for her to keep her figure just the way she wants it. What's important is that every individual understand how and where their bodies store fat and how different areas of the body respond differently to certain exercises. Not every woman can have J-Lo's butt and keep the rest of their body looking like hers. Best that can be done is to make the most of what your genetics allow you too and her exercise routine isn't going to work the same way it does for her for someone else that has a differnent body type.
