I was told my Eustachian Tube is blocked up and the only way to uncloge is it with surgery? But i was wondering if i can buy anthing at the store that may help drian it out at all?.I use ear plugs when i take a shower so no water goes in my ears but there still plugged up and i really dont feel to good because of it.why did this doctor not give me anything at all to help with my plugged up Eustachian Tube? Is there nothing that will help it but surgery?

I also get clogged eustacian tubes as a result of Labyrinthitis. Ur no surgery is not the only answer! Try steaming over a bowl regularly, the sauna, acupuncture or nasal sprays. If it is chronic they can fit little tubes called grommets - maybe this is what he meant? But it can be done under a local anaesthetic. If the steaming etc does not help, I'd suggest finding a new doctor who really knows what he is doing. xxx

Along with the steaming baths (or rooms), long hot showers, and lots of hot teas and broths, try pseudoephedrine OTC (fancy brand is Sudafed). Maybe 25 mg twice a day for a week to decongest the tube linings and allow the moisened middle ear fluids to drain out. This usually works pretty well.

If you can GENTLY blow a teeny bubble up into your ear (with nose plugged) the increase in middle ear pressure will help force the fluid down.....DO THIS UPRIGHT, not lying down! If you don't feel you can do this safely...DON'T. The key word is GENTLY!

have u tried making your own saline solution to clear the tubes ? if not its worth a go, try 8oz or measuring cup of tap water with 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of table salt, i boil the water and cool to room temp....have a nasal dropper and draw up the solution and head back , squeeze into your nostril , gently inhale then start blowing your nose this hasd worked for me in the past when i felt deaf from mucus in the e tubes.....

Have you tried a cup of coffee with the sudafed? I know it sounds silly but I took some the other day and it knocked me out almost. I was ready to sleep in the shop. I had some caffine and its like the activated it, its weird. This happened several times.
