I have been on Tegretol now for 15 years. All was well but lately things are not so good. Lately I have been experiencing something like panic attacks...but I'm not sure that's the right word.

That about describes what I'm getting, yet it's not listed as a side effect as far as I know. They stop, however, when I go off it.

You should check out (www.psycheducation.org/depression/meds/trileptal.htm).
Although it's mostly about trileptal's use in bipolar disorder, it's got good info about tegratol I haven't seen anywhere else. I didn't read anything involving anxiety, but it was saying tegratol has the tendency to decrease white blood cells (your infection fighting cells). It went on to say you don't feel these cells getting low, so you could get dangerously low and not have any idea. Besides this, I don't know much about tegratol, I am on trileptal--which is closely related.
