I have a yeast infection. I recently found out that it was a yeast infection after going in for an STD check. I had the yeast infection for about 3 months before I knew what it was. Well, my doctor told me to do the Monistat 3 thing, which I did over 2 weeks ago, and the infection is still there. Also, I've been having pains by where my hip bones are, and in my lower back, they came around the same time as the yeast infection did. They're not too painful. I was wondering if those could be related to the yeast infection? Also, HOW CAN I GET RID OF THE YEAST INFECTION ITSELF?!!
thanks...
thanks...

I too have had a life plaugued with this problem, it actually started when I was 6 if you can believe it! And I told my mom "its itchy" and after awhile she took me to the doctor but it was such a scary experiance I just used the cream they gave me and said It went away even though it didnt. It did go away on its own... then it came back.. and went away and came back. Finally after years I found out what Candida was and that changed my perspective on everything!!
Monistat only half ever worked for me and It always came back weeks later anyways. But thats because I was "feeding" the yeast. I am a carb and sugars addict!!! All i ever ate was pasta which turns into sugar to your body as it digests. Yeast will thrive if you feed it and supply it with a nice warm and comfortable feeding and breeding ground. But if you have a look at the Canada information out there it is SO hard to know who is right and who is wrong! EVeryone has a special diet you HAVE to follow! Its ridicuals! I found that I see immidiate results if I intake NO sugar (that means no fruit sugar either) no carbs and no bready or doughy things that are made with yeast itself. Some will say most veggies are off the list, i just stay away from the really really starchy ones! So thats about a week of eating bean dip on unsalter whole cracked wheat crackers and then I see results... of course then i return to the terrible sugary diet after nearly going insain and i create the problem all over again! Terrible cycle, i am really lacking disipline thats for sure!
NOw for the pains, I dont know, i dont get that!
But I can tell you a yeast infection is very hard to treat if it is a constant problem! Some women get one.. at first sign treat it and no prob... but if it has made itself comfortable for awhile its harder.
Also some at home remidies people like to do as mentioned on here before is the clove of garlic in the vagina (for a stronger treatment cut it in half and make it MUCH more potent.. but it burns) or the plain yogurt with life bacterial cultures!
at any rate I feel your pain sista!!
good luck!!

I had a wicked and horrible Yeast Infection and nothing would make it go away. My friend Serene had recently had a baby and was having trouble with constant yeast infections, and she gave me a hint that knocks it right out.
Go to a drugstore (eckerd, cvs, neighborhood et.al.) And pick up some
Boric Acid. Try to find empty gelcaps in the same place, but I know that health food stores usually carry them for people who make their own supplements.
The Boric Acid comes in a powder. Fill a couple capsules with the Boric Acid.
Each night before you go to sleep, insert a capsule till its close to your cervix. The closer the better, as it will move and clear out the whole canal.
The Boric Acid is 100% safe, won't hurt you, doesn't sting or burn, and i've never used anything more effective. I've never touched a storebought or prescription medicine again.
You'll wake up in the morning drenched in moisture, from your vagina naturally cleaning itself out.
The Boric Acid completely changes the ph of your vagina and the bacteria can't eat.
Make sure to drink cranberry juice and eat yogurt or take acidophollus to maintain the natural bacterial flora balance in your vagina. Repeat nightly.
You might be amazed. All i Know is that its worked for a big group of mamas.

Hi. This is a problem that you need to work on getting rid of very thoroughly, but it can be done. First and foremost, you need to avoid too much sugar. You may need to ween yourself off of the sugar gradually as it could leave you feeling unwell if done to drastically. You need to stop consuming any dairy that isn't organic. However, acidophilus will help you. So my suggestion is to get some organic yogurt, preferably plain, because the fruit just adds more sugar to feed the yeast. You also ought to consider avoiding beef that isn't organic for a little while because the hormones given cattle increases estrogen which also increases your risk for developing yeast infections. Also, you need to continue to exercise, get plenty of nutrition from vegetables and legumes and any organic dairy or meat. Avoid alcohol and caffeine for a while. Aerobic exercise 3 times a week. Also, try learning a meditative or relaxation technique which will boost your immune system and employ it for about a half and hour a day. After doing all this, you should be fine shortly.
