What do you mean 70% and 58% below normal? If my FEV1 is that low they tend to KEEP me and my FEV1 is usually in the 40s and 50s. Do you know what kind of tests he did and what the exact numbers were?

Most asthmatics are allergic asthmatics. When I say most, I mean 90%. The theory in allergic asthma is that if you take away the allergy a lot of the times the asthma subsides, or, in other words, goes into remission. The rhinocort nasal spray is like your pulmicort for your nose. It's a nasal corticosteroid used to keep the inflammation in your nose down that is so often seen with allergies. It's called allergic rhinitis. It'll also help with any sinus infection you may have. The allergy med you are on may help with your symptoms as well. I can understand where you're coming from when you talk about taking a lot of medication, but I am positive these medications are merited. You may find you feel the best when on these.

Don't feel bad...I'm on:

Xopenex
Atrovent
Prednisone
Advair 500/50
Qvar
Prevacid
Zantac
Reglan
Multivitamin
Calcium
IVIG once a month (These are IVs...:()
Nasal Saline Irrigation
Nasonex
Allegra

I've been on this much medication and MORE for more than a year. You get used to it after a while, and if it helps you breathe....well...it's worth it.
