When was younger I would have these thoughts rush into my head for no reason at all and the thoughts made no sense. They were always about soap opera characters?? I also used to make "deals" and say "If I can hold my breath for one minute, I will live a happy life" Also, everytime I walked into a room, I had to touch the top of the door. I know some of this is classic OCD but what about the intrusive thoughts? They were just so bizarre that I was sure I was having some kind of seizure. Any thoughts?

Could you possibly speculate a bit more and maybe give an example of these thoughts?
As for everything else, yes it does sound like OCD.
Do you still get it now?
Take care of yourself,

I haven't had those thoughts in like 6 years. I can't even explain them they were so weird. I'm on Celexa and Klonopin which I think controls the thoughts but once in a while I do get strange things that jump into my head. Like if I'm putting knives away it always comes to mind that "what if I happened to drop this on my foot" or something similar. The thoughts I used to have made no sense at all that I can't even explain them. It's like my OCD has changed too. I have an area rug in my living room and I get really mad when it's not perfectly lined up straight with my furniture. Sounds crazy but I'm fixing that thing 9-10 times a day. Does OCD change over time?

Hi Molly!
To me, it sounds like Classic OCD. I had to smile, I just made a "deal" with myself tonight. I flipped a coin. If it was heads it meant...........and tails meant............
I do believe that your obsession and compulsions can change with time. I know mine do.
Take Care.

My obsessions/rituals have changed over the years. Always basically germ based. But, they are different now than when it started. I have much less rituals now, but I do A LOT of avoiding situations.

yeah ocd can change....i think it will mold itself to fit any situation it needs to in order to keep alive! it is such a pain!
when i was little and took baths i would hold my breath under water, i guess to see what would happen when i couldnt hold it anymore....(duh) so i would have to force myself out of the tub before i drowned. lol now that sounds funny!
