Apparently you can get Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Anal Canal! That's crazy! How does it represent itself, does anybody know?

I have read about squamous cells being found in internal organs but I think it's a name of a certain form of cell and not associated with "skin" cancer. I know someone who had squamous cells in his lungs ( lung cancer). My doctor told me about a patient who had melanoma in her anus and another had it in the vagina. When my Dad was diagnosed with melanoma my dermatologist told me to tell all of my doctors about it so they would look carefully during exams.
