Hopefully the sleep tech was able to answer the question, but in case not: IF your normally take a sleep aid before bed, they'll have you take it before the test. If you dont, they dont want you to deviate from your "normal" sleep pattern. They want to see why she cant sleep, not help her sleep (yet!). Good luck to your mom! SnowyLynne63 02-28-2004, 11:59 PM I've had the test, had no sleeping aides.I don't have sleep apnea, but have a friend who does.He uses a CPAP at nite,so he can breath & sleep too.......... cheribea 02-29-2004, 08:51 AM Sorry I didnt see your question in time. Good luck to your mom!  Thanks for the replies you all! Mom had the sleep test done, no medication, (she doesn't normally take any) and she laid there awake 'till 5 in the morning! Then she finally fell asleep for about two hours. The tech who was doing her test said that that was enought sleep for their purposes. Poor mom, she just doesn't sleep much, hope this tests helps her SOMEHOW! Cherib |
