Any one switch from prilosec prescription to prilosec otc????
I know they are different from each other the otc has a magnesium base and the prescription has no base (according to my pharmacist).
I just wonder if anyone has had any good or bad experiences when switching.
thanks :

I thought they were the same but I still have some of the older kind??So, I really don't know. Is the OTC type suppose to react deferently??

Hi
I asked my pharmacist because I have had medications that I couldn't take one brand of, but, could take another brand of because (they tell me) of different bases and fillers and colors,,,,, so anyway I asked the pharmacist and they said that the otc has a magnesium base and the pharmacy one has no base. The pills sure look altogether different...... so anyway I just thought I would see if anyone else had any adverse reactions, or changes in the pills efficiency when they switched. For the time being I am just glad they are still making the pharmacutical brand,, and will continue with that I guess. Thanks for your response,
Cherib
