Good morning gals & guys,
Hope that everyone's well this morning. Nothing new to report from my end - just trying to stay strong and focused. This will be my first tobacco-less weekend coming up. The weekends are typically a time for me to relax, etc. as I have more free time vs. the work week. I have to be careful and not let this idle time work against me. I'll definitely be staying busy.
My best to all those that are trying to kick and beat this horrible habit. Thanks so much to the ones that have licked it and stick around to help others.
Take care everyone,
Dave

Weekends are always the toughest for me too. Certain patterns of behavior are terribly associated with smoking. I didn't go out to a bar until last week, because I knew I couldn't handle it. I do karaoke and the one thing I noticed is that I can sing better, I have better breath control. It would have been far too easy to pick up a cigarette if I'd have gone the first couple of weeks though. On saturday mornings, I used to get up and watch Mystery Science Theater and smoke (and smoke and smoke) and maybe have coffee. At least my house got cleaned instead!
Good luck, and happy weekend!

When I quiet I found the weekend the toughest also...Since I am DJ I would play in a smokey environment which it teased me alot. I went through a 2 month spree before quiting for good that I would not smoke Sunday-Thurs. but do so during the weekend. noe there is a ban in Maine for no smoke in Bars and I have gone over a month without one :bouncing:

That's GREAT Dave and Jeff :bouncing:
Dave - you're doing awesome. :) Don't let your guard down but I think you're being very wise and cautious which is good. Weekends didn't bother me that much - time just had to pass overall so I could be strong no matter where I was or what i was doing.
I did stay away from smokers though and kept myself occupied but always remember WHY it was I felt so strongly about quitting.
We're all doing it and will continue to do so. I know we all smell too good as well - not to mention breathing easier. :)
