OMG. I had a terrible bout of food poisoning yesterday. Thankfully I feel better today. BUt I was doing so much vomiting. That now my intestines and stomach are really sore. It feels like I lifted too much weights and now I am so sore. I am wondering if any damage has been done to my system? Can anybody offer any suggestinos or advice.

When I was struggling with gastritis, I was just starting to feel better when a group of us from work all got sick from a birthday luncheon. Most recovered in 24 hours, but it set me back big time. My gastritis flared up with a vengeance. The pain and vomitting from throwing up was bad enough but starting over again with the gastrtis was the worse. Also, the poisoning occurred on a Friday and I had an abdominal ct scan scheduled for that coming Monday. The barium tore my system up!
When I had the small bowel follow through a few months later, I expected the barium to tear me up again because of my first experience with barium and this time I had to drink twice as much. Luckily, I had no problems the second time around so I guessed the first time bad experience was sue to a weakened system stemming from the posisoning. However, after the small bowel follow thorugh, I did have snowman bowel movements for a few days (white as can be!).

The best thing that I know of for food poisoning is a homeopathic remedy -- Arsenicum Album --- taken for diarrhea as well as vomiting.
The soreness can be helped with Arnica.
You can buy both at a healthfood store.
