I had my first bunion surg in Oct. No real problems or pain. I was non wt bearing for 3 wks then 3 wks wt bearing with crutches. I'm scheduled to have surg on my right foot 17 March. This was is worse then the first one. My Dr said he has to cut higher to realign the bones and will have to put pins in and I will be in a cast with no wt bearing for 8 wks. With my last surg he found out I have soft bines(ostepnia) and doesn''t want to take any chances, plus the anle of the toe is alot more. I will have to go back to work after 3 wks, because I just do not have the time to take off. I'm not sure what the prcodure he is doing is called, but I was wondering if anyone else has had to be in a cast with pins and what problems they might have had. Also do the shower covers work with pins in the toe? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
