As most of you know I was diagnosed with HP and an ulcer in September via biopsy. I took the two week antibiotic treatment (Prevpac) for two weeks and continued taking Aciphex afterward while my stomach healed. I weaned slowly off the Aciphex and was finally retested for HP last week. My doctor called yesterday to tell me that I tested negative. I want everyone that's suffering with this miserable, nasty bacteria to know that there's light at the end of the tunnel. I did not feel better right away, in fact, I felt worse. I gradually began to feel better and now feel much better. I still have some acid, a little reflux and still watch what I eat but the gnawing, burning pit of the stomach pain is gone. :bouncing:

Nice! if it ever comes back take mastic gum! Gets rid of it very effectivley and there is no danger of your body becoming resistant to antibiotics! As that happens and they no longer work. :)

I have already decided not to wait. I doubt I will "catch it" again as I'm 58 and beyond crawling around the floor putting everything in my mouth. If I visit a "third world" country I will make sure I don't drink the water too. Just in case there's one, single, solitary pregnant HP left I'm going to start taking Mastica now. I wanted to wait to see if the Prevpac did what it was supposed to do in over 80% of cases and it did. Mastica was written up in the New England Journal of Medicine as being effective in killing HP and healing ulcers. I printed out an article and gave it to my gastro. doc. I will also take Vitamin C daily and either eat broccoli or broccoli sprouts to prevent gastric cancer, ulcers and HP.

Hi Girls.
Good news for you Saraly thats great! I just wanted to add that its been two weeks now for me since I finished treatment and I feel great too. Im still taking nexium for awhile tho then after a break from that I will do the breath test and make sure its gone. I never ever want to have that ever again. Ill do the diet stuff too. After I finished the antibiotics I have been drinking cabbage water after draining it from the cabbage. I have always loved that anyway. Aloe Vera juice and still taking the probiotics. I think Ill stick to them and also the broccoli I love too. If you have any tips tho they will be appreciated.
Suzy no news on your progress I assume ?? Have you had any more tests or anything ? I wish they would get their rear ends in gear and do something for you. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will find out what the problem is and you can at least get some treatment.

Well guys i got some good news,i dont have hepatitis. The doctor did a an examination of my body.Asked a bunch of questions.Said he didnt think i had any connective tissue disease. He said he doesnt really think i have lupus, because i have no symptoms of it.He doesnt think anything is wrong with my liver, cause all the other tests they ran came back in the normal range. He said the ANA test is not the most definitive test there is to prove any disease. He said that you could take anyone else off the street and they could test positive for ANA,and they could be perfectly fine.He wants me to have more blood tests done .He said he has no idea what that pain could be under my right breast on the ribcage. He did venture to guess it could be a ulcer or gall bladder or even related to my gerd problem even tho nothing showed up on the hida scan.He said sometimes things dont always show up on tests. So im feeling alot better but am still in limbo land about why i tested positive for ANA.And that darn pain under the breast on the ribcage.I have another gastro appt the 27th this friday.Guess i'll see what he has to say and where we go from here. Thanks for being there guys for me ,God bless.Take care.

Suzy, I'm so glad nothing dreadful was found. I hope these blood tests turn up something you can easily treat because it must be driving you crazy not to know why you hurt all the time.
