Try prenatal vitamins. You don't have to be pregnant to use them. Biotin @ at least 2000mcg a day. ( I take 3000mcg) These are both sold at Walmart. Nioxin shampoo from a salon is good also. It is expensive, 12.50$ but worth it. Good luck.

Nioxin is supposed to make your hair grow faster too.

Make sure you eat protein and a great diet. Prenatal vitamins are good, but compare, they don't all have the same amounts of things in them. Topical things like shampoo don't grow hair. That is all from the inside, the root. Shampoos and condtioners make the hair shaft pretty of course.

I'll give you some trade secrets for long healthy hair. Less is more, first of all. Throw out all your conventional shampoos. They are nothing more than glorified detergents. They strip or sometimes coat your hair and your hair can't regulate its own moisture. The scalp oil is important. People are divided on brushing. Some people get split ends from brushing, some do not. It depends on your hair and whether or not it is fine! Remember fine hair is not necessarily thin hair. You can have a thick head of fine hair. Always choose a boar bristle brush or a mason pearson brush (real mason pearson not fake ones). Choose combs that do not have nicks in them. It is important to invest in a good brush. Brush your hair upside down at night and then put your hair in a braid.

The secret to healthy shiny hair is in how you treat it. No blow dryers. Deep conditioning treatments are essential. You can do this with natural oils. Monoi oil is superb. George Michaels 12 minute conditioner is AMAZING. Put it on and leave it on for an hour. Invest in a heatcap so you can do this with the heat. They are about 40 bucks. When you wash your hair put a small amount of the George Michael on the ends of your hair before you wash and wash only your scalp. Just let the soap suds run through the rest of your hair. Don't scrub. Wash with a natural soap and use a vinegar rinse afterward (1/4 cup vinegar 3/4 cup warm water). You don't need to trim often. That's a lie perpetuated by beauticians.

Oh, if you have dark hair you can use a henna treatment, but do not do this if you have light hair! It only works for dark hair. It does bad things for light hair ;)

And for growing your hair and making it thicker, viviscal is supposedly amazing. What else? Scalp massages help improve circulation. Anything that improves circulation will improve hair growth. Good luck :)
