A friend is very ill.

She has an amazing list of symptoms :
mouth/hand/feet numbness,
all-over ribcage/internal organ area pain,
extreme constipation,
weakness to the point of being unable to even take a bath.

ER sent her home after telling her she had extremely low blood-calcium levels, giving her an IV, telling her they were going to "admit her asap!", then finding out she had no insurance.

They actually told her "don't come back to the ER".

Her hair is so dry and brittle; there is not a hint of oil despite not washing it for more than a week.

She had rash on face, then all over body.

She REACTS to almost every substance she ingests/inhales/touches.

extreme joint stiffness, especially hands/feet.

extreme constipation and abdominal bloating.

Her pain is so bad she can't sleep. She feels she is dying.

Can anyone assist with a possible cause so that she can make suggestions for diagnostic TESTS to her doctor??

posted on several boards. Looking for others who have had these symptoms and received successful treatment.

My feeling is a possible deficiency of some kind because she has been on the yeast-killer diet for a LONG TIME. Maybe magnesium.....?

Also, my feeling is there may be a possible thyroid/adrenal problem

Sounds like she needs help pretty bad. Go to a Dr. and ask to have her tested for the things you mentioned earlier. Have her cortisol levels checked which will check adrenal problems. Low blood calcium may be due to failure of the parathyroid glands. Diabetes is a possibility. Have a thyroid screen of free T3, free T4, Thyroid antibodies, and TSH. Have her ANA count tested. If it comes back positive it may indcate lupus. Many of her symptoms are similar to Auto immune diseases like Lupus.

I really dont know much. Just a little from experience and a bit from research. You may get some informative replies but your best chance is to read up the Lupus, Immune disease, and Thyroid boards. But dont limit your search to these specific boards. Her symptoms fit SO MANY different diseases and disorders your just going to have to go threw the process of elimination.
