I have asthma after walking up a flight on stairs. I am 55 years old and slim. I don't exercise and know I should. However, I am on Singulair, Flovent 110 2 or 3 puggs 2x a day and Serevent 2 puffs 2x a day. I also have a generic Ventolin which does nothing. I am going to go to a lung specialist after Jan. 1st when my insurance changes. Any thoughts?

I am curious to what you find out after going to a lung specialist, I have been told that mold, dust mites, air quality really bothers people with asthma. I was reading an article that cockroaches have something to do with asthma Originally posted by joy:

Won't be going to a lung specialist for a few weeks. I think I have emphysema along with the asthma. I have not smoked in 18 years but started at age 12. Nine years ago the troubled breathing started after walking or dancing. Hmmmmmm
