Hi, I have Cystic Fibrosis and also have Asthma. I currently on a double lung transplant list and I was wondering if I would still have Asthma after a lung transplant? I wheeze just about all the time. I don't have attacks, just wheeze.
The wheezing is about 2-3 inches above my chest bone. I'm on every asthma inhaler and medication. I was just wondering if the transplant would take care of the problem?

I don't know how to answer this-have you asked your doctors and if so what did they say? I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and please keep me up to date on what is happening with you hon.
God Bless.

i have severe fixed asthma (it became that way because it wasn't adequatley treated when i was younger) which causes me much lower percent usage of my lungs then i should have due to scar tissue. i was told that severe lung problems can cause heart failure, so i take laxex which drains extra fluid around the heart and lungs that stays there because of the lung problem. when i take them and urinate very often my wheezing goes away. ask your doctor about that, i would think when you get new lungs everthing including your heart will work much better and you probably won't wheeze
