Well I just want to vent. I made another appointment today with a different gynocologist. This will be the third one in a year I am going to. I read other post about the female gyno. That was what the last one was. I had hoped she would do some hormone checks or at least give me something to try. I liked her very much in her bedside manner. She did actually let me talk. She doesn't believe in the progesterone creams or that much can be done for perimenopause. So I looked through the yellow pages and called the office of one and ask if he does any checks for perimenopause. The receptionist said he does and the saliva test. I hope this guy will at least have some ideas or options for me. I am 48 and this year have the night sweats alot. I start getting them the week before my period and then the week after my period. I wonder how long I will have night sweats before I get all day sweats or possibly stop having a period. I am fat and eat all day long. And the weird thing is I really don't care. I have very little libido left. Of course when your sweating and fat who wants to think about sex. When my husband went to his doctor and told them he was having some occassional erection problems they did a whole testosterone check on him. For regualar and free floating testosterone. His came back good so they felt ok his problem is vasculor and treatable. While when I told my doctor I had no sex drive he told me it was in my mind or a relationship problem. Boy even typing that makes my blood boil. I just hate doctors at the moment. I too like another lady her have an ear disorder and suffer from balance loss and vertigo. That gives me anxiety on top of everything else. I do feel like I am depresssed from a hormone problem it starts earlier in my cycle and last longer. Does anyone know if I get a hormone check either blood or saliva if it should be during a certain point in the cycle to get an accurate level. Take care thanks all Linda M

I'm sorry to hear about your problem...I don't have an answer for you but I thought I would at least acknowledge your post while you wait for someone with more experience then myself...I'm going to be 42 and have some systems of premen. NO time sweats yet. This site will help you find the answers you need....Don't give up on your search for a Good Doctor to help you...I would still stick with a woman doctor...I don't have one yet but I will be checking into a new Female Doctor when my next exam is do which will be in about a year....I don't know where you live but in NH there are many doctors who are in the field for menopause and that is who I will be searching for. PLUS, I'm only 25 miles north of Boston and we have the best doctors in the world...I worked with a lady who was in her early 50's and she was taking
St.John's Wart...Please don't give up, there is help out there, these sites are a blessing for Us Woman and you will find the right help for your needs..
Take Care until then...SMILE! :)
