....... I'm hoping this is a lung thing and not a heart prob....... I tend to worry (sometimes needlessly) about these things....

.......anyways, occasionally I get a sharp pain in my lung if I move a particular way when breathing.... sometimes it'll come when I'm relaxed...... usually doesn't last too long..... doesn't happen all that often either....... sometimes it'll last a day..... maybe...... rather sporadic.......... seems like it may sometimes be at different parts.....

........any help?

Hi there,
I just finished reading about chest pains a few days ago so I thought I may be some help. Sharp chest pains that get worse by deep breaths are muscle/rib pain. One of the best ways to make those go away is by taking slow deep breaths to relax the muscle. Sharp pains that are under your left breast can be gas pains. I also have sharp pains in my chest and when I asked my cardiologist he said that 99% of the time sharp pains have nothing to do with your heart. He said heart pain is more of a dull, crushing pain or a pian that spreads to your arm/neck ect...Well I am not a doctor but I hope this helps eases your worries.

Sounds like chostochondritis to me. Have you had any kind of sickness lately, even a cold? Or do you work out? Do any heavy lifting?
Chosto is when the cartilage between the ribs is inflammed for any of those reasons, or more, and it can cause pretty sharp pain in the chest, as well as problems like shortness of breath depending on the inflammation.
There aren't any tests for it, your doctor can "shift" your ribs around a bit & if that hurts, it's likely.
The only treatment is anti inflammatories(advil, motrin, etc), ice, warm compress. Its an injury.

Other than it's annoying and painful(it can feel like a heart attack!), and possibly making you short of breath, nope. The cartilage is just inflammed, it will go down with anti inflammatory treatment and time.
