does having a cold or virus make your asthma worse? The only thing I found that keeps me out of the er (so far) is I got a nebulizer and I use that preventively 3x a day while I am my sickest to keep the lungs open. I found my inhalers do a crapy job when I am sick. Before I started doing this the previous 2 times I was sick I ended up in the er. Also anyone with real bad asthma like i have should have a yearly flu shot and should have the pneumonia shot. What do you guys do with your asthma treatment when you are sick?

Have not gotten sick since I learned of my asthma 3 years ago. However before, I was sick all the time. At times in bed for weeks with conjustion. As the old doctor said, oh its just a chest cold. ha ha ha.... Since then a new doctor and I have meds to take, no more colds,,or is that asthma attacks..ehehhehheh..

I learned to control my asthma with meds and getting the mold out of my house. The mold kept it active, chemical and exerise will flare it up.

I also get a flu shot and that 8-10 year pheumonia shot. I take cold meds at the first sneeze of a cold.
Lots of rest is great too.

Sincerely,
Buzz
