View Full Version : After wisdom teeth removal, when can I eat hot foods?

Hello. I had all of my wisdom teeth removed last Wednesday. I still haven't eaten anything other than custard and soft pieces of canned fruit and yoghurt. I have only had water and softdrinks to drink.
I would really like to have a hot cup of tea and some real food but I am afraid I will ruin the stitches or cause bleeding or something wrong to happen... or isn't it too early for eating now?
Also, I have only been able to brush my front teeth. When can I brush my whole set of teeth? and how long does it take for teeth to decay?

Thankyou. :)

I think your dentist would be the best person to ask in this situation. Give them a call tomorrow.

My dentist told my that I could have brushed the back teeth the whole time. But 1) I was too paranoid about pulling the stitches out. You just have to be careful. 2) I could barely open my mouth wide enough to get the toothbrush in there to begin with, let alone towards the back.

I do remember eating lukewarm soup the whole time though. Nothing could be real hot or real cold. As long as you let your soup cool a little bit, you should be able to eat it.

Everyone is different. My husband was eating french fries with th efront teeth after a few days.

Just be careful and don't try to do too much!
