Good morning everyone. Hope all's well. This is day #11 and the 2 week mark is right around the corner. I noticed that so far today, I feel somewhat better than the last few days have been. Not as irritable or depressed. I don't know if this is a fluke or the healing process taking effect or what? But whatever the case, it's a very welcome feeling and I hope that it lasts. :)

My wife bought somemore patches for me a few days ago and she got the Habitrol patches. I had been using some other brand that's sold at Wal-Mart. I noticed that the Habitrol patches say to go 2 weeks less at the 21 mg. dosage than the Wal-Mart type. I'm just wondering which regimne to follow? Anyone have any advice?

Thanks and take care everyone,

Dave

Whatever you feel comfortable with. Since you've been used to nicotine for quite awhile, I would suggest taking your time. Get WAY over the habit first, then drop down. It's not a race (and if it was, the tortoise would still be the winner). When you are comfortable enough to be reasonably sure you won't miss the habit is probably the time to make the attempt.

Dave--I agree with guilygenius completely when she says take your time and don't cut down to weaker patch UNTIL YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE. I hit 5 months smoke free a few days ago, and I still use 2 to 3 pieces of nicotene gum each day. I'm not ready yet to cut that small amount out, but I'm sure one day I will be, and I'll know it when I get there. It's not worth rushing things and later find out you were not ready.
Congratulations on 11 days, that's super! And I'm glad to hear that it's getting easier for you. There does seem to be a lot of good and bad days at first. Later you'll have more good days than anything else. Keep going, you're doing great!
