View Full Version : Vein problem? Burning toes?

OK... Just some brief background... A little while back (9/11, of all days), a vein in my left leg "popped" (the doctor's word for it), a vein behind my knee, basically. I don't know what happened; I was at work all day, nothing special. But I discovered this big maroon-colored oval spot there. It felt like a bruise to press on it, but it was maroon with defined edges. Frankly, it was pretty cool. Anyway, it went away. But the spot where it popped has been sore ever since if I press on it (I know, don't press on it, LOL).

Then I started feeling this burning in my toes. I can't seem to precisely connect it with any activity, but they burn. Then it goes away. They don't look any different or anything. Maybe peripheral neuropathy? And last week, the back of my ankle (I guess you'd call it) felt numb when I'd wake up in the morning. It wasn't numb, it had feeling, but it felt numb, if that makes sense.

Anyway, I'm thinking about it now because that vein's been troubling me this week, like when I put pressure on that leg from crossing it, etc. It's been sore or feeling kind of cold. The other thing is the pantyhose socks I wear to work. The one on that leg always feels tighter than the other. So I'm hoping it's not swelled slightly or something, which would be seriously uncool.

I don't know what caused the problem or what it is or what to do about it. Any help? Thanks.
