Hi,
I had gastritis when I was really young. Now... several years later, I am having really bad stomach pain in the top area of my stomach, diareah, nausia and every time I try and eat something today and yesterday I feel so nausited. I also have a lot of gas... burping. The pain in the stomach gets really bad. Does this sound like gastritis? Thanks.

Hi Coley I have the exact same pain - I had helicobacter pylori which causes ulcers. I did the triple treatment and thought I had got better. I even posted how well I felt. My pain is back with a vengeance. It hurts at the top of my stomach. I keep belching and burping , the pain is gnawing through to my back and I havent had any relief from it for about 4 days now. I made a doctors appointment but cant get in until thurs. Also nexium is not even making it feel any better. So today I tried zantac , and that doesnt help either. I feel like crying , this pain is so consuming if you know what I mean. I hope you feel better soon - but you should go see your doc and get checked out. Good luck

Hi Isobelle, thanks for asking about me.I had a really bad night monday night.Didnt get to sleep till the wee hrs of the morning.Im still in a fair amount of pain, but sometimes it can be more intense.Last night was one of those nights.Usually i can manage the pain but every so often it gets really bad.I have such a hard time getting the tests done right away that i need.My husband works 2 jobs back to back ,and never has a full day off.He goes to one job at 10am and then gos straight to the other one till 12am the next morning. We also have only one car between us.Im getting my blood tests done tomorrow that the rheumey wants me to have.Im still waiting for them to send the papers for me to get another hida scan done ,and a colonoscopy and more blood work.Starting to feel like im a pin cushion. You think if the doctors concerned about me bleeding internally,he get those papers here asp.Im so tired and weak,im trying to eat more protein and exercise to maybe buildup my iron poor blood.Im waiting to just keel over and faint one of these days.My husband got himself in trouble with the law, even tho the circumstances forced us into it,so im stressed to the hilt.My father has cancer and is going to be on hospice ,so you can imagine how i feel.I feel like my whole world is crashing down around me.Every test that ive had done with the exceptions of blood work have been normal. Now im scared to death to have blood tests thinking there going to find something else to throw at me.Well i guess thats the update so far.Hope your doing well, keep in touch.Take care.

Hi Suzy , yes you must be stressed out to the max with everything thats going on in your life at the moment - let alone being unwell yourself. I've been through the same thing with my dad too so I can relate to just how you are feeling. And I hope all turns out ok for your hubby too, he sounds like a real hard worker. We share one car too and its a pain in the rear end. My hubby does ride a motor bike but its been too wet the last few days. I had to get up and take him to work this am just so I could have the car to go for my docs appointment.
I am off for an endoscopy and biopsy , but I cant get in until the 23rd March as the specialist I chose is a popular one and is fully booked until then. Also going to the urologist to see about getting my kidney stone blasted.
I hope they find out what is wrong with you and that you get some relief from it soon and that everything else turns out ok for you as well. Let me know how you go. take care

Hello all,
I've been reading the posts about your situations. I think digestive enzymes may be worth a try. They help with most digestive problems and a lot of times our problems come from the fact that we can't digest well. Proteins are hard to digest for a lot of people. Also try DGL tablets right before eating your meals. It is VERY good for soothing and healing the mucousa lining of the stomach which is where ulcers can start up.
A few years ago I was having real bad stomach pains and I tried prilosec and everything else that was out. There are all types of digestive enzymes on the market, so ask the healthfood attendant to recommend a good mfg brand for you. Dont just pick the cheapest one.
good luck !!

Thanks Cathy - I have just ordered some slippery elm and liquorice root online. Nothing at the moment seems to be helping mine. An old man I was speaking to told me he has been using slippery elm and swears by it. So hopefully it will come soon as Nexium is doing absolutely zilch in my case, and I have to wait another two weeks to see the specialist about this Helicobacter and also whatever else helicobacter has done to me. take care Isobelle

The pain you describe sounds the same as mine, I have been dealing with it for about five years now. I have had three specialists look me in the eye and tell me they cannot help me. I haven't given up hope though, seeing another specialist in another city. I live with about 1-5 attacks of excrutiating pain per day, was taking demerol for years but I am no longer able to hold them down, was just switched to dilaudid. Takes about 4-6 of these to control not take away the pain. If you find any help with your pain I would love to know what they did for you. I am a mother of two and I just keep telling myself that this is not my life I refuse to give up hope! If not for my husband and kids I know I would have given up hope years ago but since that is not an option I find the stories on these boards a great help,it lets me know I am not alone. I will watch for any ideas you may have and I will post any I find...

I had my gallbladder out 51/2 years ago, I was hit with my first horrible attack two weeks after. I have had three sphinterotomys for narrowing, the first time I had seven months of relief, the second gave me five months and the last one didn't help a bit. They have told me that I no longer have narrowing and cannot figure out why I have these horrible spasms. The pain can last anywhere from 20 minutes to 16 hours. It starts in the middle of my stomache right where my gallbladder scar is, it them moves down to all of my stomache, then around to my back. The pain feels like someone is squeezing my insides and just keeps squeezing harder and harder until it hurts to even take a breath, the pain does not let up at all!. Any ideas?...Tanya
