OK. On my continuing saga of trying to get over the burbles, I made the mistake of seeing a chiropractor yesterday. After he wrenched my neck & mid-back & poked & proded and did resistance things to my arms & legs, he says my problem must stem from an open ileocecal valve between my small & large intestine! I certainly believe I'd have many more complaints than just burbles if fecal matter were pouring back into my digestive system! Is he nuts? I plan to call my gastroent's office today & ask, too. He also suggested a "food combining" diet wherein proteins can't be eaten with potatos, rice, pasta or bread. Ugh!

I agree with you about the ileocecal valve business. But food combining has helped others with various GI track complaints, particularly minor things like stomach grumbling, etc. (Sorry, I don't remember your specific situation.) Give it a try and see if it works! If it does, that's motivation to keep it up.
Good luck!

Arrrggggg! Yet another chiro diagnosing body systems he ought NOT to be! PLEASE! Let the chiro treat those bone and muscle problems they're so good at, but keep OUT of our innards! By all means, consult the gastro, but I think he's gonna tell that your chiro is full of it! Good luck!

The gastro said a chiro couldn't tell that--only a colonoscopy could--I said I'll pass. My family doctor said he got a good laugh out of that diagnosis. He said peristalsis & the way the valve is mase ensures one-way traffic. I read that the condition is mainly seen in people who have had ostomies. Whew!
I'll take the burbles, I guess! : )
Thanks for your responses!

Heh heh. My psychiatrist was like that. Ex-psychiatrist, I mean. I have some mysterious allergy, and he insists it has to be cats, even though I tested negative for cats in both skin and blood tests. Everyone wants in on the act. My Chiropractor made some suggestions, but I can't imagine he'd ever have the gall to try to diagnose something that wasn't in his field!

Maggie: Been thinking about you here. I had a terrible Burbble day today. I cant figure it out. I have a chance of being Celiac, but the blood tests one year ago didnt indicate that, so I figured it must be something else. It just doesnt seem to be related to any one thing I eat.
aaarggh, it is getting frustrating and possibly even a bit worse.

Hi, Tasha: Sorry to hear that! Mine are are still no better---gastroent. Took me off Prevacid, since it only helped reduce burbles by maybe 1/4. No erosion showed up in my upper endoscopy. Everything "looked good" he said. I went to a naturopathic physician's assistant, who wanted me to take 5_HTP "nature's Prozac" to see if that'd help. I decided not to, after reading that a possible side-effect was "projectile vomiting & esophageal spasms." Then I tried the chiro. That certainly yielded nothing useful. So just doing a lot of praying & still doing a low-fat GERD diet, along with a few herbal things.
Have you seen a specialist lately? I tested negative for celiac disease, H. pylori, thyroid, & any nutritional deficiencies. I sure wish we'd get free of these burbles/flutters! Could they possibly have a parasite relationship? I drank some spring water that came from a forrest spring before getting this. Not diarrhea-y though. What a mystery! HUgs & hang in there! I guess that's all we can do with this very annoying thing!

Maggie: I hear ya with the prayers, I need to as well.
I have tested negative for H Pylori, and pretty much for Celiac (with one questionable but not very indicative test). With the diabetes and thyroid I could have problems from that, but right now I am leaning toward this being a Reflux or GERD problem. I have spells of reflux trouble, as I have had this week and the stomach trouble is worse this week too. So, I think the connection is there
I am going to do what my doctor said and try a prescription dose of Tagamet every day. She wants to do a colonoscopy and Endoscopy in one visit. I know I am about to be due for the former, but since I have never had any invasive testing done on myself, one test is plenty for me!
