quincy 02-27-2004, 04:00 PM Hi, since you haven't posted for a while..just concerned as to how you are doing since your treatment? I hope you've had some reprieve. q Sponsor realbelle 02-27-2004, 06:42 PM Hi Qunicy, thank you for asking. I don't know how I'm doing!!! The recheck was yesterday and the dix-hallpike was negitive. I still have the feelings of motion. Yesterday was the first day since the epley that my head was put down and Thank God there was no spinning. I was told to get back to "normal" and see what happens!! I emailed the theapist at the balance center and he told me to take it easy for one more week to be sure the rocks stayed out of the canal...I did get 2 hours on Wed. of being normal--no motion at all for 2 glorious hours!!! I atleast know stillness IS still in there...Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Again, thanks Qunicy. Belle quincy 02-28-2004, 03:13 AM Hi Belle, That's great news to hear!! It seems you're on the way to recovery. You're not doing the B-D exercises are you? What did the therapist at the balance centre say that was causing the motion feelings? That's great you have a "direct line". I agree to take it easy for the week, but try to still not overguard too much as to overcompensate for your balance. Do what you can and not more. Don't push yourself so that you are feeling overwhelmed, because anxiety and feeling distressed will certainly create their own symptoms and exacerbate the ones you already have. Take a day at a time. I had long periods of motion feelings for those years I was so symptomatic. I've been "off" for the past few days as well, like veering off to one side when walking. No vertigo feelings at all, nothing like that. More sensations than anything concrete. Today was a good one for me, but I did have a few kind of weird surreal feelings. They do come and go. The winds have been constant for a few days and the air pressure is really low. I notice I'm more "sensitive" during Spring. I'm happy to hear you had 2 hours!! of feeling nothing. To us, that's a good thing, isn't it? I hope you are able to have good sleeps and improve daily. Keep us posted as to your progress. The only advice I have is that if you become symptomatic (vertigo) again don't wait to do something about it. Either do the Epley at home, or make an appointment with the doc or therapist to have it done so that you don't have to suffer too long. Hopefully, that won't happen for a looooong time. Best to you, Have a feeling-good day!! quincy realbelle 02-28-2004, 03:12 PM Hi Qunicy, last night it kept feeling like it was spinning but I would open my eyes and everything was normal. Now today, it feels like there are tennis balls bouncing around in my head. My balance feels way off and walking is a task. Is this normal? Vision is acting up--all at once things go very blurry or I see spots. The motion isn't as horrid as yesterday. Thanks, Belle quincy 02-29-2004, 04:10 AM Hi Belle, That doesn't sound too good. I can relate to the closed eyes feeling, but it was like the top part of what I was seeing (with my eyes closed) was going to the right and the bottom half was going to the left. Really crazy sort of feeling. The tennis balls bouncing in your head is probably related to the walking, and I can relate to what you mean. I've never thought of it as that way. It's a most disconcerting feeling for sure. So, the balance/walking isn't at all with the motion feeling? The blurry vision I do get on occasion, and I did have it when I was symptomatic. The spots....I see flashes once in a while as well as floaters or in the sun I see black spots, but I don't think that's what you're talking about. Since you have direct contact to the therapist through email......can you ask if you can do anything to help with the feelings? Ask him/her if that's a common feeling when one has been symptomatic for so long? Were you diagnosed with vestibular neronitis as well? Did you ever have an MRI done? Are you doing any other exercises as well? Gee, I hope you feel relief soon! quincy realbelle 02-29-2004, 10:29 AM Hi Quincy, I have emailed the poor guy so much and I don't want to drive him nuts!! He toldme to give it a week and then write him. Slept pretty good last night--no weird feelings and so far today no sports going on in my head!!!! I can totally relate to seeing the black spots outside. I haven't done any exercises since the epley. They told me to wait this extra week before I do any of them. No, the only dx they have ever said is BPPV. I didn't have the MRI--couldn't afford it but they said the ENG was so conclusivie on me that I didn't need the MRI anyways. In the beginning I was so scared I called them a million times asking--are you sure its not my brain, not a tumor, not MS. She told me that sometimes they can't be so sure of their dx but with me--the ENG was sure...I have praised the Lord for that. For the motion, they just keep telling me--don't worry about that--it WILL go away. Then of course comes the 6 million dollar question--WHEN??? Which as we all know--can not be answered. How long did you feel the motion? From everything I have read and all the questions I have asked--there is no treatment for the motion. Can you recall ANYTHING you did that helped stop it? Thanks, Belle quincy 03-02-2004, 03:43 AM Hi Belle, That's great you were able to have a night symptom free, well.. without the bouncing balls. I hope it continues for you. That motion feeling you get, like being in a boat......does it coincide with your heartbeat? I hope you have a feeling better day. quincy realbelle 03-02-2004, 10:08 AM Hi Qunicy, the motion is constant. The only time I don't feel it, is when I am in a moving car. When we stop-it all comes back. Sometimes, it's worse after being out and sometimes its better. When I first get up, it feels like something in my head isn't right. Hard to explain but worrisome. Thanks, Belle Emsybobs 03-02-2004, 01:23 PM Have the exact motion you describe belle. And the feeling when you get up -like a lot of pressure in the head and balance bad then subsides. Odd xxx willsmommy 03-02-2004, 05:19 PM HI Guys, I can completely sympathise with the constant motion feelings, I had it 24/7 all of last year. Like you all I felt the most normal when I too was in the car. Oddly enough the thing that can bring on a mild dose of motion is now a trip in tha car. For me the motion feelings stopped as the general bouncy, off balance feelings and dizzy, ping pong ball in the head faded. For me it wasnt that the motion in isolation stopped, more like it all gradually lessened. I now feel sorta normal when walking, better stull in shoes, horrendous and weird in trainers and bare feet especially on hard textured floors. When I was in constant motion I often swayed a little when standing delibrately to try and feel a bit more normal, now I hate that it makes me feel wierd. I really have no idea what to suggest to get rid of the motion as such it just seems to go of its own accord. BUT I tell you even though most of the time I dont notice the motion say sitting or walking. I can still detect something not being quite right when I stand on a flat surface. Also when I am tired the whole thing is exagerated, I guess as I am not compensating so well. Generally I admit defeat at this stage and go to sleep or bed and then the following morning back to the usual. I also now notice that the motion feeling will come on if I do alot of house work and motion I guess. So I am not cured either, I suppose what I think is this.............hang in there........it does go.............it lessens with time...........you will get there. Ilia xxxx realbelle 03-02-2004, 07:52 PM H Emma and Ilia, thanks for helping. This motion is just the pits. Just got back from the grocery store--while in there, I started the horrible feeling that I was going to fall,my daughter says--mom you need to go?--i asked her why did I look funny--she said--you look scared!!!! I WAS scared! Mercy guys, I have had it with this mess. Belle Emsybobs 03-03-2004, 02:10 PM Thinking of you belle...Me too - have had it with this!
