Hi all. My son has almost non existant C4 complement. The drs where we live sent his blood to Ontario to have it screened with more sensitive equipment bc it was showing none at all on the equipment here. It came back saying that there are trace amounts. The Dr now wants the whole family to come to the city to have blood work done to check the rest of us for low C4 levels. Is this genetic testing of some sort? Is it better for Luke to have others in the family with this problem or for it to be him alone. I mean, if others have it and are fine then he should be, right? The dr also says that he wants Luke to wear a medic alert braclet. Is this a normal thing when there is not too much wrong?
I have to ask my questions here bc the dr doesn't want to answer anything until he has all the answers and I feel the need to know. He told us that the reason the blood was sent away was bc he thought it was a lab error here but when he called he said it was becasue they have more sensitive equipment there and they could get a clearer picture. I guess he doesn't want us to worry but we are anyway.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
