Hi. I'm not doing well again, ugh. My peak flow is about 155 and it's just staying there. Normally it's 450. I'm on Advair 500, theophylline, 10mg of prednisone, albuterol, atrovent, Nasonex, and Singulair. My mom said I have a lot of rhonchi and some rales...she's a nurse and listened to my lungs. I usually only get rales when I'm not doing so well; I always have rhonchi. I'm doing albuterol every four hours (or more depending if I need it or not) and atrovent every 6 or so. Should I up my prednisone a little or go to the doctor? I don't want to see him.. and I have a lot of prednisone..hm. Tempting. Just wanted to see what you all think I should do.

I would up the prednisone and see if that doesn't get things moving faster. It takes 40-60 mgs for 5 days usually to stop a flare up, and sometimes I need to do two bursts before it's fully gone, or if it gets me sick(like if I get pneumonia or bronchitis from it killing my immune system).
Hope you feel better soon!

Well...I'll ask my mom to call my pediatrician. My pulmonologist freaks out when I ask for a pred burst. The pediatrician is much more laid back. I upped myself to 60mg ... prepare the food closet!

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

Sucks doesn't it ,i swear it's certain times of the years that i automatically get sick . My peak flow is at around 200 (on a good day lately ) it should be closer to 490 .my husband is freeking but i've already been to the doctor and between all the puffers ,prednisone , and zithromax ( which is giving me the worst stomach ache ) there is no way i want to go back for more !!But really if you not improving you should !!I'm just getting over phnemonia and have no desire to get it back !Hope the prednisone helps !!Feel better soon ........
