Anyone here had or knows someone who's had one?
Im 36 and have more serious bouts of tonsillitis than Ive had hot dinners. Time to get rid of them I think.
How painfull i sit for an adult? I heard better surgical procedures make it less painfull these days?

I'm 36 and just had my tonsils out two-and-a-half weeks ago. I was having to take antibiotics for recurring infections several times a year for the past few years so it was time to just bite the bullet and have them yanked. And to be honest-- all the horror stories you hear about it being much worse for adults is true!!!! That said, however, the worst of it is over in two weeks. My throat is still very sore and I'm generally fatigued, but compared to how I felt a week ago, it's tolerable. My postings (and those of others) from the past month or so help provide a pretty good picture of what you can expect. Now that I'm back in the land of the living, I'm glad I had it done. We'll see in the months ahead how it affects my quality of life overall. Good luck. It's a difficult decision to make.

Well I had my tonsils out 2 almost 3 months ago. I was 18 and it hurt so bad!! But it was defenitly worth all the pain to not have to deal with so much tonsilitis anymore.
