Sponsor salty 02-28-2004, 06:42 PM Brandy176, no bad side effects from Trazadone. I use it for sleep and love it. Salty u2fran 03-05-2004, 11:22 PM I've been taking trazodone for 7 nights now, 50mg as a sleepaid and it doesn't seem to help me sleep as well as it should. It makes me thirsty and a little bit tired and yet slightly agitated during the day. I'm on a few other meds also, for bi-polar also. Medicines effect different people differently, so those are just the side effects that I'm noticing. injured betty 03-05-2004, 11:24 PM Is anyone familiar with the anti-depressant/sleep medication Trazodone? Experience any side effects? Or have the effected your blood at all? Thanks! Tried it, no sleep, only a really bad headache. Gave it to my husband, he slept, no side effects. zuzu8 03-14-2004, 04:54 AM My sister was on it. Terrible dry mouth and heart palpitations, (which she had never experienced before) and she complained of fatigue and feeling drowsy. It seemed to make her already disturbed sleep pattern worse. Her blood tests while on it were normal. zuzu xx lori j 04-28-2004, 04:05 AM Hmmm....I'm observing a pattern here. Lots of negative posts about medications and side effects I really think it's all mental. Anyway traz helps me sleep like a baby I like it it works well, no side effects, just be careful with your dosage, I usually take 50 mg, more or less as needed. Good luck and good night Does everyone on trazadone have to have regular blood tests??? Just wondering, I was considering asking my pdoc about it, as I cannot tolerate ssri's. salty 04-28-2004, 02:39 PM I don't, but I have blood tests regularly anyway for lithium levels. I too love Traz. Wouldn't know what to do without it to help me sleep. Salty lori j 04-29-2004, 02:04 AM Well, saw my pdoc today & he agreed that trazadone might be a good option for me, so I get it filled tomorrow. Wish me luck, this med change has been going on since last OCT!!!! zimnah 04-29-2004, 05:53 PM I haven't...I'm on ambien for chronic insomnia (28 years now!! and now further as to why) but my husband takes trazodone. He gets horrible dry mouth (he's actually had the roof of his mouth so dry it's bled) and has a very hard time with after-effects in the morning. He has a very hard time just getting the energy getting out of bed. He also spends the night in pretty much one position, so I'm guessing he's more drugged than getting useful REM sleep. He's very tired the next day, and dragging. Since I have to test my blood sugars every morning for low readings, I'm wondering if he shouldn't too. He certainly has many of the same symptoms that I do when my blood sugars are too low in the morning. Hope this helps. whatamess@35 05-14-2004, 01:32 PM I am having lots of other health issues at the moment so im not taking trazadone right now... I have tried ambien after 3-4 nights it stopped working for me ..Thata when i was given the T..I had dry mouth at first and a bit tired in the am if i took too much..That all went away and it worked great for me!!!! I guess everyone is different!!! lori j 05-15-2004, 12:39 AM I have been on trazadone over 3 weeks now with no side effects! YEAH. I've had so many others that bothered me. Pdoc & I agreed to start me on 25mg, half a pill & I just upped it 3 days ago & so far so good! no patience 05-15-2004, 08:25 AM i take trazadone for sleep it is a wonder drug for me i had sleep problems like waking up every hour and no longer have it i love it but everyone is different kelleigh  lindao1 05-15-2004, 03:07 PM I've been on Trazadone for 5 years now. Currently at 150mg each night for sleep. I really don't know what I would do without it. It's been a blessing to me, but everyone responds differently. Seems like I'm the only one who has been on it this long. I've never had any side effects from it at all. Just a good night's sleep. Take care, Linda :D hairdur 05-16-2004, 06:49 PM I too have been on trazadone for about 5 years. I take 50mg at night. I have seen no side effects and I can get up just fine in the morning. The only trouble I will have is if I up the pill to 100 mgs then the next morning i am very very sluggish! I have a low tollerance to drugs however. becky1954 05-21-2004, 06:31 PM I have taken trazodone for years.50 mg is probably not going to help u sleep.I am on 300 mg and I can take up to 600 mg if i need it.It helps me well with sleep. lori j 06-21-2004, 03:00 AM Two months & I'm still doing really good on trazadone, one of the few anti-depressants that does not give me adverse side effects. |
