Hi, Im Amber and Im 16 years old. This has only happened few times but Im not sure what I should do about it so I came here for some advice. Ive had moments in real life where I will be standing there with someone close to me and I will see myself killing them. I was in the mall with my sister, and I saw myself throwing her over the edge of the balcony. Another time I was standing in the dining room with my boyfriend and there was a knife on the table and I could see myself stabbing him. Is my mind simulating this to know how it feels?? Sure, my sister can be annoying (she's 9) but I love her with all my heart and if anybody ever tried hurting her I would go crazy. Also, I love my boyfriend so much, there is never tension between us really. I have tons of friends and I get good grades, but I have a bad temper, when I get mad I get mad. I just want to know if I should seek help or if this is normal...
Thanks.

Hi,

I have had a few flashes like this before, but not for a long time. As far as you needing help for it you did seek some help here so it must be bothering you at least a little bit. If you can talk to someone who is a doctor or therapist you should at least see what they have to say. If only to feel OK about it.

I'm pretty sure everyone has had these "flashes". Sometimes I get the idea that someone is going to lash out at me and hit me over the balcony. Although if they are bothering you, badly, I would recommend mentioning them to your doctor like kwazie suggested. Good luck!
