Good morning guys & gals,

I hope that everyone is doing well and had a good weekend. Well it's day #15 and I'm doing well. I still have cravings from time to time, but nothing that's not manageable. I have now completely stopped chewing the fake/imitation chewing tobacco. I feel good and am proud of my progress. jc001 - I hope that you're doing well, too. I see no reason why we both can't become permanent, ex-tobacco users. You know?

Take care everyone,

Dave

Way to go girl, still hangin' at the gym after all this time! I have to say, you are one very hard workin' ex-smoking chick!! :)

All is well here. 5 months, 1 week smoke free...hooray! I'm going back to work next week, part timer. I need to get back to something! Of all the people that work there, and we had a lot, only 1 smoker remains. Margie and I used take cig breaks together. She hates being the only smoker over there. It's time that lady quits. 58 years old and only has tried to quit 1 time, and it only lasted a few days. She coughs alot and clears her throat constantly. Maybe I can give her some direction or at least some inspiration! It will be so nice not to have to be seen out there in the parking lot looking like a fool anymore.

Lookin' forward to Spring....and I'm off to vote in a little bit!
Have a great day Laurie! :bouncing: bouncing boy for LL29!

That's great Deda - proud of ya and so happy you're happy. :)

Yeah - I used to clear my throat all the time when I smoked and now I don't have that. Amazing how you notice things - heck I think that stopped in my first week of quitting. I HATED that - was so embarrassing.

And look at you Miss 5 months and some - you go :) That's great Deda - proud of ya. We'll be here next year saying "Dang Deda - one year and 5 months - you go" LOL

You'll have to ask miss 58 yr old if she wants to......I have a gf that wants to so she's gettin there in mentality but I know it'll take quite a bit to get her fully there. I pray she quits.

Have a great day - bk to work :(

Yes, I had that thick gluey stuff in my throat all the time when I used to smoke too, it was so gross, and sometimes when I would be talking a lot, my voice would just go away, or I would sound like a little frog! Yep, I feel for my friend over there. And she's a prime example of how smoking does damage to the facial skin. She is so dry and wrinkled looking, and has a bunch of those terrible vertical lines over her top lip.  !!!!!!!!! :::sigh::: ...a good reminder for me to keep quit girl!!!!!

Wow, I DO hope 1 year from now we're all still celebrating our long term quit!! Won't/wouldn't that be awesome???? I pray it does!! to guide us!!

Keep up the GREAT work Miss Laurie!! When's your 4 month anniversary????? (Never thought in the beginning we'd all be here so long!!!) ((((((((((Laurie)))))))))))

Ciao!

I think it'll be March 19th - 120 days :) It's weird/amazing when I think about it because my whole adult life I smoked so it's just weird sometimes but a nice weird. LOL I love how I smell - just waiting for the sinus problems to go away. I've always had bad sinus here in Charlotte - the south just breeds it I think. I might one day move just because of them. UH

I went to the gym tonight - all is well :)

Laurie

PS: Don't worry Deda we'll still be smoke free forever :)

That's right, now I remember that you quit the night before the Great American smokeout!!! woohoo, go girl...you didn't want to do it on the big day but BEFORE that! How could I forget?

I sure hope and pray that we'll be smoke-free for-ever Laurie!!! Wow, go Laurie, you really do go down to that gym a bunch..you go girl! You must be in great shape by now!

That's terrible about the allergies. My DD over got that bad too when she lived here, so I guess she's not gonna like that (over there) this Spring, is she? I'm lucky in that way, I'm not bothered with allergies too bad. Do you take anything for it? My DH has been taking Allegra for about 4 years now, and it's helped him tremendously.

Speaking of quit anniversaries...my hubby's quit will reach one year this month, (he didn't keep track of the day). I would like to do something a little special for him, or take him somewhere and surprise him. I'm really proud of him that he's made the 1 year mark. He never did this before! I'm open for suggestions of any shape or form, place or thing. hehe....can't ever think of anything. I did just get him a Sonic toothbrush for Valentine's day. Now his cholesterol's up for the first time, and his doc told him to go on lowfat diet. Geez, gettin' older sucks sometimes! We sure don't need all the problems smoking would/could/will bring if we had continued....
Bye girl!
DEDA :)
