I am 50 years old and my last period was in October of 2003. Prior to that I had very irregular periods, mostly very heavy. But now I have nothing. I am not on any kinds of medications for anything. I never had any children either. I am healthy, feel good, and not overweight. I did nothing different from the norm up to and after this time. Should I go to my gyno? Or should I assume this is leading up to menopause.

If this is your only symptom I would say that you are very lucky and if you don't get your period for over a year then you are in menopause.

I am a person who likes peace of mind if something is really bothering me. So if this is, then I would visit your doctor.
