Do any of you know any vitamins or herbs that help flush out the nicotine? Or anything that might help aid the lungs in repairing themselves?

I'm not sure about the vitamins/herbs, but be sure to drink lots of fluids. Seems like I've read where 90% of all nicotine will be passed through your body through your urine in the first 72 hours. So be sure to drink alot. It will help.

Oddly enough, I read that the faster you flush the nicotine out the worse your withdrawls and cravings will be (shorter but more intense). I used to go sit in saunas and drink lots of water.

I read that cranberry juice speeds up the process of fushing out nicotine!
Try it, it can't hurt!

I know that Vitamin B complex is WONDERFUL for aiding in stress and withdrawal overall. I take it every day - faithfully and it really helps me with my moods. :)

Guilty and BBD are right - water will flush it out and that's the best thing for you. Make sure you keep up your water intake after as well because it helps you keep down on your weight and is also great for your skin.

And yes Angel - heard that too about cb juice. Not sure how effective it is though??? Worth a try if you like it. LOL

I think I saw something that said that orange juice did that.

However, the nicotine is not in your lungs, it's in your blood stream - and any fluid will "wash" things out of your blood through your kidneys.

If you quit smoking cold turkey, the nicotine will be out of your body in about 3 days. That doesn't mean the cravings for nicotine will be gone however. (we should be so lucky!) The struggle against nicotine goes on long after the actual drug has been eliminated from our bodies.

Bummer.
