Hey everyone...haven't visited the site for a while and glad to see your still here for when busy people get a break. Yesterday was 6 weeks smoke free for me and I'm doing real good. Energy level is up noticed that a couple of weeks ago. At first I thought it was just nervous energy you know gotta stay busy. But now I think I just feel better. My blood pressure was a little high right after I quit but is leveling off now and is pretty much normal. Holding steady with a 5 lb weight gain. Not losing yet but so far holding steady. I know this due to low carb diet and exercise. I gained those 5 lbs in one week. Quitting doesn't cause everyone to gain weight but I think exercising and watching what you eat are something that you can change in your life to help you quit. You know how they say to change habits ect. replace some time spent wanting to smoke with working out. I'm no exercise guru (1/2 hour a 5 days a week) I just know it is something that gives me a feeling of control over my weight.
I told my parents, who are 70 and have smoked my whole life about me quitting with Quest cigs and how I didn't really have to try I just didn't want to smoke anymore (told this story in a previous thread) yada yada yada. They decided to try them. Things seemed to have gone well except for the fact that they are stuck on the third level (no nicotine) they LIKE THEM???? To me they taste like dirt and weren't worth the trouble. I suggested they mix it up even more and say they can only smoke in the garage or something. Just goes to show you that every one is different and what works for one maybe won't work for another. Good luck to all. Thanks for listening. Queen B
