View Full Version : Advice after reconstructive surgery

I recently had reconstructive surgery on the scalp due to a invasive basal cell skin cancer. It has been a month ago. It involved the crown and he did flap reconstuction. My doctor feels I should not take Vicadin anymore and just go with advil. However, I feel like the top of my head isn't there anymore which I believe is due to spasms. Since I stopped taking the Vicadin the spasms seem to involve 3/4 of my scalp but only the crown was involved in the surgery. Has anyone else had this experience and what did your doctor suggest.

I did not have reconstruction on my scalp, but I do know that the area of my reconstruction (nose) has weird sensations off and on. I believe it is from the skin growing and healing around where the stitches, etc were. Sometimes I will feel like a burning sensation and other times persistant itching. Mine was in October. I would take my Doctor's advice; mine has been right on the money through my whole ordeal.
