Hey guys whats up. I just have a few questions that i have been saving up. Just wondering if you may be able to help me or not. If you cant answer one, skip it and help with the others. Thanks in advance!

1. I run about 2 miles everyday down at our wetlands. I have heard that running practically melts the fat away, is this true?

2. I try to watch what i eat, but i cheat all the time. I am working on that but it is really hard cause i like my junk food. If i keep eating the candy and chips and pop, is all that running for nothing? If so, that will make me even more determined to stop with the sweets.

3. Diet sodas. If i drink diet sodas, does add anything in my body that will slow down weight loss?

4. I am 18, 6'1" and 175 lbs. i know that is a healthy weight to be at as far as bui goes (or whatever that is) but hardly any of it is muscle. Most of it is man boobs and love rolls and stomach fat. Starting monday, i get to start lifting weights every day at 6am Monday through Friday. Will lifting weights increase metabolism or speed up weight loss?

5. and finally, heh thanks for making it this far, what do you reccomend i eat as far as calories, grams of fat, grams of carbs, and grams of protein a day. not sure what i am at right now, i will find out tomorrow and post that. Thank you all and thanks for the help!

1. Given your bodyweight, the answer is most likely yes, but the last few pounds and inches will be difficult to lose.

2. Depends. How many calories are you eating per day?

3. Probably not.

4. Yes and yes.

5. For the weightlifting, you can increase protein but as to what you should eat it depends on what type of diet fits your lifestyle and preference.

You shouldn't be lifting weights everyday. You should alternate between cardio (your running days) and weight lifting. Your muscles need time to repair themselves, but if you are lifting everyday, they can't do that.

its hard for me to answer the questions since i believe girls and guys have to do different things to achieve their goals but my husband has an awesome body. hes a firefighter so he has to keep in good shape.. he runs a few miles everyother day, sometimes everyday and does weight usually everyother day.. hes about 6 foot and 190-200 all muscle.. he eats pretty healthy but not all the time.. drinks a ton of water and does firefighting and consturuction everyday.. hope that helps a little
