View Full Version : High fructose corn syrup caused my asma

That's right. This sugar caused me to have horrible asma where my lungs got worse and worse. I would gag at night and puke. Then my lungs began to lock up on me if I was laughing to hard or something. Turns out I cut this sugar out and it went away.

I know this causes it because I introduced it in my system years later and I felt the tightness start to come back. So I kept eating this sugar in soda pop a little more. Guess what? I got worse. It took only a few days till I could breathe free again and a month before I felt totally fine again.

Do any of you that suffer with asma drink soda? Avoid it and see what happens.

It has been suggested that any high-sugar diet can exacerbate asthma, as high levels of insulin are known to have an effect on asthma symptoms.

So it is possible that it was not in fact the fructose, but the levels of insulin your body produced in response to it.

Caffeine also exacerbates asthma symptoms.
