I have had asthma my entire life. It has been chronic where i have needed to take an inhaler 2wice a day for my whole life. I was wondering how this affects my chances for getting pregnant and also how it affects a pregnancy. I am currently taking Advair. Will I be able to take Advair while being pregnant and breastfeeding.

Thanks

From what I know, no asthma drugs have a direct effect on fertility.

It is generally regarded that each asthmatic should be looked at from an individual basis when it comes to whether they should take their medication while pregnant -- a severe asthma attack is a greater danger to the baby than almost any medication. You may find your asthma gets better to the point where you don't need your inhaler while you are pregnant. You might also find that your asthma gets much worse to the point where you cannot even fathom the idea of going without it. You might also find it doesn't change at all.

Asthma is a very different disease for everyone who has it, so whether you need to take your meds while pregnant is something that should be looked at individually. By a *doctor*.
