i have asthma but i dont know if the tightning in my throat wich makes it hard to breathe is a symptom.
I hardly get it in my chest....only throat.

look into something called "vocal cord dysfunction".. i cant post any links (rules of the forum) but if you search for it - you ll find lots of info...

I also get that throat tightening. It comes & goes. I've been told it's related to my: a) asthma
b) reflux reaction and c) sinusitis.
But then I also read if you put weight on in your neck area (from prednisone or whatever) it could also cause that tightness.
I don't panic over it anymore. Sometimes I take a Xanax and I fall asleep and when I awake it's better.

My throat often feels weird at the bottom of my neck, right between my clavicals. But the albuterol does seem to relieve it.
Sometimes cold water helps too if you can tolerate it.
