Hello,hope someone can HELP PLEASE
Recently I was diagnosed with polyps in the post nasal area, and I have had what feels like a lump behind the tonsil itself. My throat has been red for awhile now but without it being sore.
What I would like to ask is this.....when I swallow it feels like I am swallowing over a lump of congestion that leaves a terrible taste in my mouth at times, could this be a blocking of the tubes that come from the back of the nasal passage, and could the nasal polyps swell and feel like they are coming down that tube in the post nasal area?
And could it only be a blockage of this tube from the sinuses into the throat area.
is this something I should worry about?as I do have eustachian tube dysfunction and I wondered if the polyps could be causing this problem?
Any information you could offer will be greatly appreciated,Thank you so much.Look forward to your reply and may God bless you and all the people on this board who you give advice and comfort to.
We all thank you for your time and patience in explaining to us as it helps so much to get your replies.Thank you.

Wow, that sounds really unpleasant. My only suggestion would be that you see a dr as soon as possible. This does not sound like something that you should 'grin and bear it' with.

The polyp's relation to your eustacian tube is a yes-maybe-no not sure thing. It could play a factor, but it might not..?

I think if you can feel the polyps when you swallow and when they start causing problems along those lines that's when they start seriously looking at taking them out, though, right?
