Okay, I just got home from the hospital. I am supposed to leave town tomorrow, but now I can't. When I went in today, my doc sent me to the hospital, because my oxygen level was at 93. I had already had two neb. treatments that morning. I stayed there all day until baout 8. Now I can't leave, because they think I have pneumonia. I will find out tomorrow for sure. Is 93 really that low? They let me go home when it reached 97??

That's cos 97 is normal.
93 in an asthmatic who's probably tachypneic(breathing fast) and has already had 2 neb treatments is not all that hot. Though they should probably be more worrying about your peak flows than your saturations, I'm not surprised, if they think you have pneumonia. Pneumonia compromises your body's ability to maintain adequate saturations by preventing your lungs to selectively redirect blood flow to the best-ventilated parts of your lungs.

I went in today again to the ER, and I do have pneumonia. Yuck! I am on all this medicine, oxygen and breathing treatments. I am a dance instructor, so it will stink this week having to stay home from all my kiddos. I also have to miss so many practices and get cut from dances. It stinks.
